Alhaurin El Grande is one of the most popular inland villages thanks to it’s great location. It is one of the few towns which has a walkable centre and a traditional laid back Andalucian appeal. It has always a busy farming town and remains so today. Albeit one which offers all modern amenities and facilities. It is 30 minutes from the airport, 40 minutes from Malaga and just 20 minutes from the beaches.

Alhaurin De La Torre properties for sale
Alhaurin De La Torre is located closer to the airport and is essentially a suburb of Malaga. Many local families commute into Malaga each day for work or schools each day. The town is quite spread out and consists of numerous hillside urbanizations, the town centre and rural areas.

Cartama properties for sale
Cartama is actually two towns with Cartama itself on the south side of the river and Cartama Estacion on the north side. This small mountainside town is overlooked by the castle and the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios.
The town of Cartama Estacion is a popular town with a thriving community. Here you will find lots of campo style fincas, many of which have excellent views of the valley, and even the sea. There is a weekly street market where you can buy all of your fresh fruit and vegetables.

Casarabonela Properties for sale
Casarabonela is located on the west side of the Guadalhorce Valley and within the area protected as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park. The town has been in existence since Roman time and was then called Castra Vinaria (Wine Castle). The remaining walls of the Arabic Castle date back to the 9th Century.
With a population of just under 3,000, Casarabonela remains a sleepy hillside idyll surrounded by over 1,000 years of fascinating history.

Coin is located west of Alhaurin El Grande and is a popular working town. Originally a market town based upon agriculture, Coin has now expanded to cover a large part of the western Guadalhorce Valley. The old town has retained it’s character, whilst fincas and citrus groves dot the outskirts. There are also a number of pool homoe and townhouse communities for those buyer who are looking for something more modern.
You will find Lidl, Aldi, Carrefour and Mercadona supermarkets, plus a host of local stores in the town.

Monda is located to the west of Coin, just off the main road to Ojen and Marbella. The stunning Monda castle – which is now a lovely hotel – stands high and proud above the town. From here you can cast your eye across the Guadalhorce Valley.
